So, you are wild about media, read multiple newspapers everyday, want to change the world, have a passion for computer graphics, want to shoot sports video, are interested in cutting edge technology, have a story to share or want to grow up to become a documentary film maker. You are ready to apply, so what do you do next? Here are the steps you need to take to join our excellent faculty in changing the way the world looks at media!

Media Production is a limited access program - we accept 40 undergraduate students every year. Acceptance into the program is competitive so pay close attention to the application process detailed below. Strong applications include good grades from challenging classes, demonstrated experience in some aspect of digital media production and clearly written essays that describe your goals as a media maker.

Step 1: FSU Student Status

You must be an FSU student to apply to the Media Production Program. If you are not currently an FSU student you must apply to FSU independently from your Department of Communication application. Apply Online Now.

Step 2: Check Minimum Requirements

In order for your application to be considered you must meet a set of minimum requirements. Please read the Department of Communication Application minimum requirements before proceeding with the application process.

Step 3: Complete Undergraduate Admissions Registration Form

Complete and print the Undergraduate Admission Registration form. Be sure to choose Media Production as your emphasis area! This will serve as the cover sheet for your paper application. Registration form is available December through February only. Undergraduate Admission Registration.

Step 4: Complete Department of Communication Application

Read, print and complete the Department of Communication application. You are encouraged to submit three letters of recommendation and no more than a five minute sample of your work on tape, DVD or CD with your Media Production application. Department of Communication Application.

Please note the end of the first semester requirements described in the application. When formally accepted into the Department of Communication, students will receive a copy of the graduation requirements.

Step 5: Submit Application

Mail or deliver your paper application no later than the first business day of February to:

Step 6: Check Admitted Student List

Check the Department of Communication web site the week after spring break to see the list of admitted candidates. In addition to being listed on this website you will recieve a letter in the mail verifiying your acceptance.
